Conoscenze e abilità da conseguire

Globalization dramatically changed the environment of political and economic activity, widening the context of social action and speeding up its pace. This course intends to tackle the new ethical issues inherent in a globalized world of social change from a theoretical perspective, without neglecting the historical side. At the end of the course the student a) has a deeper appreciation of the new ethical issues facing mankind in an era of globalization; b) has knowledge of the most interesting contemporary theories of the just society; c) is capable of historically situating the current developments in society.

Contenuti

Il corso affronterà alcune delle principali tematiche legate alle attuali circostanze geopolitiche: la questione della società giusta e la sfida del relativismo all'interno delle società multiculturali; populismi nazionali ed internazionali; questioni di etica ambientale; Epistemologia e questioni di regolamentazione delle fake news, Le sfide etiche e politiche dell'intelligenza artificiale. 

 

Il corso (che ha la durata complessiva di 40 ore) è suddiviso in due parti tematiche. La prima affronterà alcuni autori e aspetti filosofico-politici che consentano di inquadrare le questioni etiche appena menzionate, le quali verranno trattate nella seconda parte. Particolare considerazione verrà assegnata alle seguenti dottrine: 

1) Liberalismo (con particolare riferimento alle teorie di John Rawls)

2) Utilitarismo

3) Deontologia di tipo Kantiano

4) Egalitarismo

Lezioni frontali, supportate da presentazioni powerpoint, durante le quali gli studenti saranno incoraggiati a partecipare esprimendo le proprie visioni ed interagendo tra loro e con la docente. 

Modalità di verifica e valutazione dell'apprendimento

1) Un paper relativo ad uno dei temi affrontati nella seconda parte del modulo (lunghezza massima: 15.000 caratteri, note e bibliografia ESCLUSE). 

 

2) Un breve esame orale su uno degli autori esaminati nella prima parte del modulo.  

Strumenti a supporto della didattica

Presentazioni powerpoint per ogni lezione. Il materiale per lo studio dei singoli autori e temi sarà caricato sugli appositivi spazi virtuali.
