Conoscenze e abilità da conseguire
The workshops aim to analyze some of the most relevant issues on Eastern European and Eurasian politics and cultures, vividly related to current debates and events. Experts and practitioners offer workshops that combine an academic/theoretical perspective with an expertise frequently gained on the ground. The workshops focus on the evolving political systems and regional security situations, and/or on the most recent cultural changes in transitional societies, including the role of media in mirroring the reality. At the end of the workshops, the students are expected to have acquired theoretical and practical knowledge of the issues above mentioned as well as the ability of applying and reporting this knowledge to the different contexts/case studies analyzed.
Contenuti
The seminars will be announced timely on the MIREES web page according to the availability and contribution of the prominent scholars and practitioners invited.
Modalità di verifica e valutazione dell'apprendimento
All MIREES students are required to attend at least 10 workshops during their two-years program (for a total of 20 hours of 'workload').
In order to acquire the credits of this activity, each student must submit reports on three (3) of the attended workshops by the end of the second academic year (the IV semester).
Each report should include a brief summary of the workshop's content and a critical reflection on those topics. Students are invited to take stock of the broader knowledge acquired throughout the year via other courses.
Each report should not exceed 1.000 words.
