Conoscenze e abilità da conseguire
Because of the frequency and after passing the final exam of the course properties of cosmetic materials the student has acquired: o knowledge of thermodynamics of solutions, gels and emulsions and of intermolecular interactions in complex systems; o knowledge of the physico-chemical parameters (polarity, viscosity, surface activity...) of interest for the characterization and study of the properties of materials for cosmetics; o knowledge of the redox properties of molecules and materials of the cosmetics and their possible interaction with living biostructures; o knowledge of the main characterization techniques and the means for the evaluation of components (additives, solvents and salts) for advanced formulations; o knowledge of the main scanning probe microscopy techniques for the surface characterization of the bio and nanomaterials and the functional imaging of their interaction with biological systems.
