Conoscenze e abilità da conseguire

Obiettivo del corso è fornire agli studenti una conoscenza delle
metodologie inerenti la storia delle istituzioni culturali e
scientifiche con un focus specifico sullle forme che le hanno
caratterizzate tra la fine del XIX e il XX secolo in ambito
occiedentale. Verrà privilegiato l’approccio comparativo, in
particolare per quanto riguarda il rapporto Europa e Stati Uniti.
La finalità del corso é di spostare il focus dell’indagine dalla
storia delle idee e del pensiero scientifico verso un’analisi
incentrata sula storia sociale e materiale e delle forme
organizzative delle istituzioni culturali e scientifiche Agli
studenti verrà richiesto di essere in grado di contribuire
attivamente alla discussione in aula in particolare alla
presentazione ed elaborazione di casi di studio. E’ rilevante anche
se non indispensable una buona conoscenza delle problematiche della
storia economica contemporanea: E’ richeista un’ottima conoscenza
del manuale di storia contemporanea<br />

Contenuti

il programma del corso verterà sulla storia della filantropia in Europa e negli Stati Uniti con particolare riferimento al ruolo delle fondazioni. Verranno peresentati scnari generali e casi di studio inerenti singolipaesi in area occidentale
La metodologia riguarderàsia lo studio delle forme organizzative sa il ruolo deegli attori isttuzionali ed individual. verranno approfonditi alcuni aspetti comaprativi sia in abito stloricop sia in ambito territoriale in modo da evidenziare le logiche del cambiamento asociale in questo pecifico ambito in rapporto ald altri attori quali le istituzioni pubbliche le impresela Cjoesa lo DStato.

Una novità del corso è rappresentata dal fatto che gli studenti verranno messi a conforno con grandi personalitàdel mondo delle organizzazioni filantropiche in ambito internazionale nell’ambito di alcuni eventi pubblici organizzati nel corso dell’Anno Accademcio. E’ richiesta una conoscenza anche elementare della lingjua inglese ion modo da poter seguire tali eventi e pòoter partecipare eventualmente alla discussionei

Metodi didattici

oltre alle lezioni frontali il corso si varra di esercitazioni
pratiche che consisteranno prevalentemente nell’analisi di
documenti inediti tratti da archivi privati e pubblici initalia,
europa e stati uniti. il corso si varrà della presentazione ed
elaborazione in collaborazione con gli allievi di casi di studio
discussi in aula e dell’ausilio dei metodi della storia orale e del
confronto critico delle testimonianze
gli studenti di assistere ad eventi internazionali e alle letture di eminenti personalità del mondo della filantrropia in Europa e Stati Uniti

Modalità di verifica e valutazione dell'apprendimento

per gli studenti frequentanti l’attività in aula ed in particolare la partecipazione alla discussione e all’elaborazione dei casi costituirà elemento di valutazione congiuntamente alla redazione e presentazione di una tesina finale su argomento da concordare con la docente.

i non frequentanti dovranno scegliere almeno DUE testi tra quelli indicati in bibliografia per un totale di pagine noninferiore a 300 - 350
la docente é disponibile per concordare programmi individuali purché attinenti alla materia del corso

Strumenti a supporto della didattica

agli studenti verà richiesto di lavorare non solo su testi ma anche
su documentazione on -line, sui siti web di specifico riferimento ai
temi del corso e di imparare ad operare con gli sturmenti della
storia oriale e  secondo il metodo del confronto critico delle
testimoniananze.
la coniscenza della lingua inglese è vivamente auspicata.
