FAQ

• Am I eligible to apply?

  Displaced students o refugees (or applicants) in Italy

  You are eligible to apply for a reserved position if:

  • you hold an Italian residence permit for “asilo politico” (political asylum), “protezione sussidiaria” (subsidiary protection), or “protezione speciale” (special protection).  You can also apply if you currently hold a residence permit for “richiesta asilo” (asylum application): in the event of admission, you will have to obtain one of the above-mentioned residence permits in order to complete the enrolment;

  or

  • you hold an Italian residence permit for “protezione temporanea” (temporary protection) for Ukrainian displaced people. You can also apply if you have requested it, or you are eligible to request it according to DPCM 28 March 2022: in the event of admission, you will have to obtain the residence permit for “protezione temporanea” in order to complete your enrolment;

  and

  you hold a qualification required for admission to a First cycle Degree programme.

  Iranian female student residing in Iran / Afghan female student residing in Afghanistan, or domiciled in third countries in order to obtain a visa

  You are eligible to apply for a reserved position if:

  • you are a female student holding am Afghan/Iranian citizenship and residing in your home country (or if you are Afghan you may be temporary residing in neighbouring countries for visa application purposes);

  and

  • you hold a qualification required for admission to a First cycle Degree programme
• How do I apply?

  You have to submit your application from March 10^th to  31^st at 13.00 CEST, exclusively through Studenti Online, according to the following instructions:

  • Register on studenti.unibo.it. If you don’t have a Unibo username and password (institutional credentials) or SPID (digital identity to access the Italian Public Administration’s services) or CIE (Italian electronic identity card):
  • visit studenti.unibo.it and go to the “Register” section. If you are an international student without an Italian tax ID number (Codice Fiscale), go to the “International student registration” section;
  • fill in all the mandatory fields and follow the instructions to create your Unibo username and password. Please note: The personal details of individuals registering on the site must correspond exactly to those indicated in their passport or identity card;
  • after the first access, you will have to replace the PUK code with a personal password. It is important to remember your Unibo username and password for the entire duration of your career, as you will need them every time you access your personal profile on studenti.unibo.it.
  • Visit studenti.unibo.it and click on “Admissions”.
  • Select “Special admmission to CLABE and CLAME”.
  • Check your contact details.
  • Enter all required details, fill out the declarations and indicate your preferences.
  • Upload all required documents in pdf format.

  Important! The application will be deemed valid only if the student completes the above procedure correctly. Applications cannot be submitted on paper, by fax or by e-mail.

  You must attach the following documents to your application, under penalty of nullity:

  • a copy of your currently valid passport
  • your secondary school diploma or a certificate of enrolment if you haven’t obtained it yet
  • your curriculum vitae, preferably in Europass format
  • a presentation letter written by the candidate

  Only if you are residing in Italy, you must also attach: a copy of your residence permit in Italy or receipt of application.

  All documents must be in one of the following languages: Italian, English, French, Spanish.

  All documents in any other language must be supported by a translation into English or Italian on non-letterhead paper. The translation may be done directly by the candidate.

  The submission of the translated documents only is not admissible; they must always be accompanied by the original documents.

  Applications that are not properly filled in or complete with all the required documents will not be accepted.

  In this phase, you do not need to submit an official (sworn/certified) translation into Italian, or any document confirming the authenticity or concerning the value of the study qualification.

• How will I be assessed for admission to the programme?

  Your curriculum vitae and your language, logical and mathematical skills will be assessed through an analysis of your dossier (composed of your curriculum vitae and your presentation letter) and an interview.

  The overall score will be calculated as follows:

  • Curriculum Vitae and presentation letter: 20 points
  • Language skills: 40 points
  • Logical and mathematical skills: 40 points

  A maximum of 50 candidates per quota (Afghan students, Iranian students, and refugees/asylum seekers, displaced persons) are admitted to the interview. Specifically, the top 50 candidates are selected in descending order based on their diploma grade. If the diploma grade comes from different educational systems, the committee will convert the grades to ensure comparability within each quota.

  The interviews will take place on 14th, 15th and 16th April 2025 online via Teams. The details of the interviews will be notified to the applicants via e-mail (exclusively at their institutional e-mail name.surname@studio.unibo.it). Late or absent candidates will not be evaluated for admission to the programme.

  Only candidates with a minimum score of 50/100 will be eligible for admission to the programme.

  In the event of a score lower than 20/40 in logical and mathematical skills, the relative OFA (Additional Learning Requirements) will be assigned.

• How the rankings will be drawn up and the position assigned?

  A general ranking list for admission to the degree programmes will be drawn up according to candidate scores in decreasing order of points. On equal points, preference will be given to the younger candidate. The results will be notified on Studenti Online.

  Positions will be assigned on the basis of each candidate's category and with priority for the preferred degree programme indicated.

  Any remaining positions will be assigned by recovery procedures.

  The total positions for each degree programme cannot be changed.

• What shall admitted students do?

  Admitted students will have to pay the first instalment of tuition fees and complete the enrolment in the programme following the instructions provided in the notice and according to the calendar published on this page.
