Why choose this programme

You can choose between two curricula, one in Specialized Translation, and one in Translation and Technology.
The course prepares you to professionally translate texts in several domains, e.g. for the publishing industry, subtitles and videogames.
It's an innovative approach, focusing on emerging language-related professions, computer programming and data analysis.
You will attend courses which are entirely taught in a foreign language, which can be English, Chinese, French, German, Russian and Spanish.
You will learn about the latest demands of the ever-changing translation market, by exploring the various sectors that make it up.

Professional profiles

Graduates will be able to perform the following professional roles and functions in the areas of employment here indicated:

Specialised translator for sector and corporate communication and for newspaper and multimedia publishing.
Functions: translating specialist written texts of different types on issues present within different sectors, and coordinating complex translation and language adaptation projects.

Career opportunities: freelance or employed within translation agencies, companies, institutions, organisations and national and international bodies, both public and private.
Expert in terminology, editing, language technologies.
Functions: dealing with the terminological-terminographic management of linguistic written and multimedia materials on electronic-information supports.

Career opportunities: freelance or employed within translation companies, companies, bodies, public and private research and documentation institutions, both national and international.

The degree programme project has been submitted to selected external stakeholders in order to receive their opinions and feedbacks on the learning outcomes and the professional profiles.

Access to further study

It gives access to third cycle studies (Dottorato di ricerca/Scuole di specializzazione) and master universitario di secondo livello.

Experiences abroad

The MA offers a wealth of opportunities to study abroad. These include one-semester study periods in EU and non-EU universities (through the Erasmus+ and Overseas programmes), but also longer and more structured opportunities, like the METS mobility programme, and especially our double degrees with the University of Granada (Spain), Rosario (Argentina) and Monash (Melbourne, Australia).
