Learning outcomes

The course aims to provide students with the tools to navigate the complex regulatory framework that governs the subject and critically analyze the principles and rules that form the basis of policies to combat climate change. Starting from the analysis of the international and European regulatory framework, students will explore the main regulatory tools, also through the examination of case studies in strategic sectors, such as transport and logistics, where the need for a balance between economic development and environmental protection emerges.

Course contents

The sources of law at national, European and international level on the subject.

The protection of oceans and seas in international conventions.

European policies on climate change.

Regulation (EU) 2021/1119 establishing the “European Climate Law”.

Climate change regulation policies in the transport and logistics sector – analysis of practical cases.

International dispute resolution bodies.

Readings/Bibliography

The teaching material will be provided by the Professor and uploaded to the platform Virtuale.
