Readings/Bibliography

Handouts provided by the teacher.

Suggested reading:

  • Lora D. Delwiche, Susan J. Slaughter, The Little SAS Book: A Primer, Fifth Edition (English Edition) 5th Edition, 2012.

Teaching methods

Students will participate in hands-on computer lab sessions using SAS software.

Assessment methods

Students are required to form work groups consisting of 3 to 4 members. Each group will be assigned a project from a list of topics provided at the end of the course. The project involves conducting a statistical analysis using SAS software. The final deliverable will be a PowerPoint presentation that summarizes the analysis, which must be submitted to the instructor prior to the exam.

The PowerPoint presentation should include the following sections:

  1. Objectives of the Analysis
  2. Description of the Dataset
  3. SAS Code Utilized
  4. Interpretation of Results

The oral exam will involve a presentation of the group's analysis, but grading will be done on an individual basis. To assess each student’s contribution, additional questions about SAS programming may be asked during the presentation.

Non-attending students can perform the task by choosing a dataset among those provided (RMK: write an e-mail to agree on the project before the exam).
