Learning outcomes
The student acquires the technical skills for performing pediatric radiological examinations on the osteoarticular system, chest and abdomen with and without MDC.
Course contents
- Pediatric patient diagnostic process.
- How to interact with the little patient and his caregivers.
- Dose reduction strategies and notes on the SIRM AIFM FASTER agreement (2020).
- Chest x-ray acquisition techniques based on age and in the various possible scenarios: TIN, RIA, POST OP, POSITIONING CVC, DEPARTMENT. Indications, correctness criteria, recognition of anatomical structures on radiographic images.
- Direct abdominal x-ray acquisition techniques in a non-collaborating patient: indications, correctness criteria, recognition of anatomical structures on radiographic images.
- Notes on the various MDCs employed.
- Opaque enema Rx acquisition techniques: indications, correctness criteria and recognition of anatomical structures on radiographic images.
- Acquisition techniques of retrograde cystourethrography: indications, correctness criteria and recognition of structures on radiographic images.
- Esophageal transit Rx acquisition techniques: indications, correctness criteria and recognition of anatomical structures on radiographic images.
- Joint x-ray: indications, notes on ossification, notes on radiographic anatomy and the differences between pediatric bone and adult bone.
- Spine X-ray acquisition techniques: indications, correctness criteria, discussion of cases through images.
- Pelvis x-ray acquisition techniques for hip dysplasia: correctness criteria, recognition of anatomical structures on radiographic images.
