Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the student acquires scientific and didactic-training knowledge in the field of metabolic diseases, with specific reference to the prevention of type II diabetes mellitus.
Course contents
The course is developed in the framework of the European project DUSE developed in the framework of the EU4H program with European funding https://site.unibo.it/duse/en
The course will be organized in both lectures and seminars.The course will be held exclusively online via teams.
The lectures will be held by Prof. Raffi having as topics: glicemic control, types of diabetes, incidence, altered physiological mechanisms, effect of education on diabetes.
In most of the lessons there will be a seminar held by a project partner. The specific contributions of each partner are listed below:
Prof. Giulio Maltoni, IRCSS/AOUBO S. Orsola-Malpighi Hospital, will teach clinical aspects.
Prof. Vasiliki Derri, Democritus University of Thrace, will teach physical education.
Prof. Philippous Philippou, Democritus University of Thrace, will talk about insights in dance activity.
Prof. Maria Michalopoulou Democritus University of Thrace, will talk about study of physical activity monitoring technology
Dr. Viorela Tabusca, Dr. Mihai Androhovici and Prof. Florin Leuciuc, Association Sport for All Suceava, will perform lectures on exercise and its management.
Dr. Oleksandr Fomichov, League of Tolerance, will impart his experience as a coach in the field of noncommunicable disease prevention.

This course is included in the Teaching Innovation Project of the University of Bologna with blended teaching.
Assessment methods
The exam consists of a written test with three open questions carried out on a PC in a computer room in a maximum time of 90 minutes. Each question will be evaluated from 0 to 10 points and the sum of the scores obtained in the three questions will form the final grade.
