Learning outcomes
In this module the student is led to develop a process of understanding of the dynamics, actors, themes, processes that characterize the relationship between innovation and advanced design, in order to orientate him/her within the training course undertaken. Through ex-cathedra lectures, seminars, and practice sessions, the main themes characterizing contemporary innovation processes, into which design action will be embedded, will be addressed.
Course contents
Introduction
The master's degree course in industrial design confronts admitted students with various levels of complexity of the contemporary industrial project, and in accordance with the motto that ‘one learns to design by designing’ provides that students, organised in small autonomous work groups, are supported both by University teaching staff and by expert staff working in enterprises of different production sectors involved in the assigned theme. In this way a real commission is simulated in which the designer operates in a group of actors and with a plurality of instances represented by different exponents who often have divergent interests and differing specialist knowledge.
Theme (module 1 and module 2, Prof. Celaschi and Prof. Succini)
EXTREME DESIGN. Designing the circular and sustainable relationship between human beings and extreme spaces.
