Learning outcomes
At the end of the course students will have maintained their previous language abilities and will have acquired specialised lexis for the teaching of English in Italian primary schools and for introducing CLIL activities. Students will develop an awareness of culture and language skills in a prospect of lifelong learning with the aim of taking part in cultural exchanges and making contact with English speaking partners, developing awareness of cultural tolerance and social harmony and inclusion.
Course contents
A content based approach to language improvement.
Students will have the opportunity to exercise and improve their English through the study of techniques for teaching English in Italian primary schools. Students will be presented with a variety of activities in a workshop format. These will look at ways of improving lexical skills, reading and writing speaking and listening as well as play-based approaches to introducing grammar, songs and drama aspects of CLIL and the teaching of English in primary classroom.
In addition to methodolgy we will be working on language and lexis, writing skills, in particular the traditional essay at B2 level.

Assessment methods
The end of course written exam will consist of the preparation of a short text illustrating some activities which reflect the activities and techniques that have been met during the course.
In order to take the final exam students should enrol on Alma Esami within the prescribed deadline. Anyone who is unable to enrol due to technical difficuties before the prescribed date should communicate the problem to the "segreteria didattica" as soon as possible, before the closing date for enrolments. It will be up to the course lecturer to accept the enrollment.
If you should fail the exam, it is possible to try again in the same exam session should there be another available date. (i.e. No "salto di appello")
The final evaluation is "pass" or "fail".
