Learning outcomes

At the end of this Course students will be able to use basic accounting skills related to the purposes, object and method of accounting as the fulcrum of the entire corporate information system. Students will also be able to identify the distinctive characteristics of different types of organisations. They will also be able to understand and interpret financial statements and use managerial accounting techniques for decision making.

Course contents

The course is designed to provide students with a comprehensive overview of knowledge related to management, managerial accounting, and reporting.

During the course, the principles governing corporate reporting for stakeholders and the business reporting useful for the decision-making process of managers will be covered.

Teaching methods

The teaching methods are a combination of traditional lectures (presentations and related explanations), interactive lessons, seminars, and exercises.

Assessment methods

Group assignments and written examination

Written exam divided into two parts:

- Theoretical questions
- Practical exercise

The assessment of preparation is based on the following grading scale:

- < 18: insufficient preparation, the student must retake the exam;
- 18-23: sufficient preparation but limited or generic understanding of the course content;
- 24-27: adequate preparation but with some gaps in course content;
- 28-30: very thorough knowledge of all course content;
- 30L: excellent knowledge of the course content.

Exam structure: the exam is written and conducted in person. The EOL platform may be used during the written exam.
