Learning outcomes
At the end of the traineeship, the student is able to identify and satisfy the care needs of the person with high care complexity. He is able to establish effective interpersonal relationships in order to activate a helping relationship with the person / family. Integrate his/her activities in the organization of the service by integrating with the multi-professional team respecting the deontological principles of the profession.
Course contents
ATTENTION - this course includes preparatory aspects and prerequisites: refer to the section "Learning assessment and assessment procedures". Access to the Internship periods requires having already passed the Nursing Internship II exam.
During the Nursing Internship III, students will attend clinical internships of various specializations and structures, within the framework of the existing agreement between UNIBO and the reference health Institutions.
The Internship has a duration of 28 ECTS of which 3 ECTS of activities related to the Internship (Articles 4 and 5 of the Regulations).
During attendance, the Students
will participate directly, gradually gaining ample autonomy, in care activities under the supervision and surveillance of specially designated clinical Tutors.
will participate in specific briefings and de-briefings organized by the teaching tutors of the office and / or by the clinical tutors themselves.
under the guidance of the Teaching and Clinical Tutors, will have to draw up three clinical-assistance case plans for people assisted according to the Gordon-Carpenito model; of high complexity, compared to the expected learning level.
At the end of the course, students must be able to integrate the theoretical scientific knowledge of the Professionalising, Characterizing and basic subjects of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd year, maturing skills of professional autonomy that will be evaluated under the Cognitive, Technical aspects -operative and Relational.
In particular, students must demonstrate that they:
know how to apply the basic ethical-deontological and regulatory principles to each case submitted with competence and relevance (D.M. 739/94; L. 42/1999; L. 251/2000; CD OPI 2019)
are autonomous in conducting the nursing assessment: through the use of technical, theoretical-organizational tools and evaluation scales; interpret clinical data, identify specific nursing interventions, plan and program their implementation and evaluation; in relation to the knowledge acquired over the three years;
are able to identify and relate to the clinical case pertinent nursing diagnoses among those developed during the professional courses and exercises.
know how to perform all the nursing procedures studied and justify their scientific rationale.
are able to guarantee the safety of operators and patients by applying procedures relating to hand hygiene, waste management, use of personal protective equipment and adoption of standard and specific precautions.
describe the highly complex clinical phenomenon using a technically-scientific and professionally adequate language
are able to guarantee inter-professional integration and supervision of supporting staff.

Assessment methods
The exam of the Nursing Internship Course III requires specific preparations, in particular, in order to register for the exam, students must already have:
passed all the exams of the 1st and 2nd year
In addition to have:
reported positive evaluations in the internship evaluation forms in all periods attended
produced the three clinical-assistance cases requested.
The exam consists in passing two tests:
a written test consisting of:
micro-situations in which to identify from time to time Nursing Diagnoses, Objectives and assistance interventions;
questions regarding knowledge or normative-deontological applications
calculation of drug dosages, use of life support machines and complex instrumentation.
questions related to diets, lifestyles and principles of health education and therapeutic education
Passing the written test allows access to the oral question, aimed at ascertaining the level of integration of the acquired knowledge.
