Learning outcomes
At the end of the teaching module the student possesses the basic knowledge relating to high-tech medical devices for the treatment of pathologies, particularly of a neurological nature, as well as the ability to plan their study and development through methodologies, work tools and production techniques, even to the preparation of the documentation required for carrying out clinical evaluation studies.
Course contents
The course aims to provide students with an overview of techniques, technologies and devices for the treatment of pathologies, particularly concearning neurological deseases.
The following topics will be addressed:
- Approach to the design of advanced technical devices: workflow and working models
- Advanced technical devices for the treatment of neurological and amputee patients
- Sub-systems: top-down and bottom-up design approach
- Development tools for traditional and digital technologies
- Notes on the validation procedures of medical devices (clinical trials on medical devices)
