Learning outcomes

The course aims to provide students with the tools to understand the legal activities underlying e-commerce and the processing of personal data online, as well as to acquire the technical and conceptual skills to deal with the different working scenarios. Students are enabled to put into practice the conceptual and doctrinal framework acquired in the course Internet and Social Media, through guided exercises and group works.

Course contents

1.Legal requirements for the processing of personal data: focus on the privacy policy

2. The system of identification of the active subjects of personal data processing: contract with the processor

3.Electronic contracts: the most critical clauses

4.Electronic signatures and “point and click” in business

5.Artificial intelligence and liability: examining the risk in practical cases

6. The use of artificial intelligence tools (for example GPT chat) in the legal field for the drafting of contracts and the resolution of legal problems

Teaching methods

Active student participation is crucial for this course. Students are required to attend 80% of the classes.

Lessons are highly interactive and include group work.

Assessment methods

Assessment is carried out through the evaluation of a paper prepared by the students on the basis of the information provided in the class.

Prerequisites

Enrolment in the course Internet and Social Media Law (74769) is a prerequisite for enrolment in the Internet and Social Media Law Workshop.

The examination can only be taken after having passed the exam of Internet and Social Media Law.

The thesis must be handed in twenty days before the date set for its online submission.

Teaching tools

Students with disabilities, including learning disabilities, who need compensatory tools may communicate their needs to the Lecturer and be addressed to a referee, with whom they can agree the adoption of the most suitable arrangements.
