Learning outcomes
The course aims to provide basic knowledge - both theoretical and practical - relating to a new field of study of public law: city law, collaborative cities (sharing / cooperative cities) and shared administration, from an internal point of view and a comparative perspective.
At the end of the course, student must know the legislative and administrative tools of shared administration (municipal regulations about the regeneration of urban commons; legislation on urban commons, collaboration agreements; administrative procedures, participatory budget, etc.) and be able to apply them to concrete cases and to discuss with public officers on the use of these tools.
Course contents
the program is developed within the framework of Jean Monnet Chair SO_CITIES "A new paradigm of solidarity and sustainable cities in the European framework"
The course is organized into lectures, seminars with academic guests and students activities. Lectures and seminars aim to introduce students to the core tenets of the discipline.
Students activities aim to provide occasions for in-depth discussions of class materials and exercises. Students are divided in groups.

- basic knowledge on the sharing economy, sharing mobility and smart, human rigths, cooperative cities, green cities
- right to the city: classifications sharing/cooperative cities
- shared administration and legal tools
Students activities:
cases studies of co-administration, sharing mobility e smart cities
urban regeneration,whorkshop with civil servants

Teaching methods
Lectures and seminars: instruments, such as videos and projector, will be used by the Professor.
Student activities: students are invited to read the reference texts of each class in advance.
Students are required to carefully read the assigned material before the session and - in the case of seminars - active participation through presentations of existing scholarship and case studies will also be expected.
Assessment methods
For FULL-TIME STUDENTS the assessment will be based on their participation, their involvement in the:
- discussions of the materials
- their presentations in class,
- their report.
If a student is absent during one intermediate test or the evaluation of one intermediate test is insufficient, that part will be added to the oral part of the exam.
For NON-FULL TIME STUDENTS, the assessment will take place as a final written exam on the materials than a oral examination.
Final grade:
- Minimum analytical skills → 18-19;
- Good analytical skills → 20-24;
- Very good analytical skills → 25-29;
- Excellent analytical skills → 30-30 L
