Learning outcomes

- At the end of the course the student knows the main legislation applicable in the field of prevention in living and working environments; - is able to know the functions and measures applied in inspection activities by judicial police officers regarding the environment, living and working places.

Course contents

Topic 1

Alignment of knowledge to facilitate learning during the course.

Basic notes on the concepts of: "system", "organization", "function", "prevention", "repression", "procedure"

Introduction to the course:

- The general context of prevention activity and the main legislative instruments

- Structuring of the legislative structures and main objectives

Topic 2

Elements of law relating to the activity of the T.d.P.

Examination of the main legislative instruments in the following sectors:

• Environment and health
• Safety in living and working environments
• Food Hygiene and Nutrition

Topic 3

The function of the Judicial Police

Administrative and criminal proceedings resulting from the application of the sanctions provided for in the regulatory provisions.

Topic 4

Examination of Legislative Decree no. 758 of 1994

Interface with the Public Prosecutor's Office: the figure of the Public Prosecutor

Operational mandates in the event of reports and cases of accidents at work

Topic 5

From the perception of risk to the prevention tools adopted by the prevention technician.

Innovative risk management and staff training tools: Behavior Based Safety (BBS).

Topic 6

The prevention actors (Managers, Supervisors, Workers, Prevention Service, Competent Doctor, Qualified Expert).

Analysis of some sentences.

Topic 7

The development of safety procedures as a prevention tool (matrix of responsibilities and application methods).

Operational instructions: interactions between risk assessment and safety procedure.

The main analysis tools adopted by the T.d.P.: identification of dangers, risk assessment and training in different professional contexts.
