Learning outcomes
- Understand the definition and fundamental principles of palliative care (quality of life, early palliative care, and end-of-life care)
- Identify the different professional figures involved in palliative care
- Understand the complex palliative care needs of patients with oncological and non-oncological diseases
- Recognize the relational and communicative needs of the patient and the family
- Identify and manage pain, symptoms, and common conditions in patients with incurable diseases
- Recognize the bioethical implications related to the field of palliative care
- Understand the modes of communication with patients and families
- Understand the principles of listening as a basic principle of palliative care.
