Learning outcomes
The student will have the fundamentals for performing a critical evaluation of the main diagnostic laboratory techniques in renal pathology.
Course contents
The laboratory in nephrovascular disease.
Glomerulonephritis. Handling and preparation of renal biopsy specimens. Stains required for histological examination of renal biopsy. Histological elemental lesions. Routine antibody panel for immunofluorescence microscopy. Main immunofluorescence patterns. Ultrastructural elemental lesions. Genetic testing in renal disease.

Teaching methods
The course consists of 2 CFU (frontal teaching).
Assessment methods
The final exam consists of the oral presentation of two questions on the program's topics.
For each question, the student receives a vote based on the demonstrated ability to briefly expose the issues with some critical thinking. The weighted result, expressed in 30/30, contributes in proportion to the number of credits, the final vote of the entire integrated course.
