Learning outcomes

The student acquires the different types of research studies, measurements and tools of social research. The student is able to apply the concepts in the construction of the thesis as a research tool, in the publication of an article or a poster. Primary studies: sensitivity, specificity, diagnostic accuracy, predictive values of diagnostic tools. Secondary studies: Characteristics of secondary studies. Systematic reviews and guidelines.

  2. Notes on statistics and Boolean operators
  3. Searching scientific literature online
  4. Data processing and security
  5. Types of studies and outcome indicators
  6. Qualitative research
  7. Reviews, secondary publications and guidelines
  8. How to write - present - publish
  9. Continuing Medical Education (ECM) – regulations and organization of training
  10. Applications of artificial intelligence in research and radiology

Teaching methods

Lectures and moments of practical application of the contents, in the classroom, with individual or group exercises.

Assessment methods

Type of exam:

Oral question (10 min per student).



What is required for the exam:

Study the material provided by the teacher and prepare a topic of your choice from the program covered during the lessons, on which to propose an oral presentation.

 

Evaluation criteria:

Final grade out of 30 plus possible honours, with a score distributed as follows:

  • Topic of your choice - up to 28 points.
  • Teacher questions - 2 questions worth 1 point each if answered correctly.
  • To receive 30 cum laude - particularly thorough preparation of the topic and excellent response to questions.
