Learning outcomes
The course focuses on the regulation of banking activity and banking contracts, grounding legal analysis on the in-depth knowledge of the economics of financial institutions.

- Banking products and banking intermediaries.
- The banking market.
- The regulation of banking activity under Italian law: deposits and loans.
- Authorisations under banking law.
- Corporate governance and organisational structure of Banking institutions.
- Transparency and competition in the banking sector.
- Banking supervision and banking crises.
- Banking institutions: the Bank of Italy, UIF, CICR, MEF, EBA and the European Banking Union.
- Cooperative banking groups, BCCs.
- The regulation of special credit.
- The risk management system and banking transparency.
- ADRs in banking law: ABF and ACF.
Module 2. Prof. Giovanni Battista Barillà
- The regulation of banking contracts under the Italian Civil Code.
- Banking guarantees and ABI models.
- Independent personal guarantees. Documentary credit and international banking operations.
- The regulation of banking collaterals in Italian enterprise law.
