Learning outcomes
At the end of the internship the student is able to translate into practice the theoretical tools acquired during the course of study and acquire a greater awareness in view of future work choices.
Course contents
This activity is part of the mandatory learning activities of the program. The request of activation has to be done through the page https://www.unibo.it/en/study/towards-the-job-market/internships/curricular-internships/curricula-internships. The objective and the workplace of the internship has to be decided together with an Academic Tutor, which is normally a Professor member of the Faculty board. The internship can be carried out either in Public institution, including the University of Bologna, or in Private companies. It is important that the student firstly identifies the topics or the area in which she/he wants to acquire additional skills for her/his future career, and get in touch with the Professor that has taught the subject to ask for an availability to serve as Academic tutor. The tutor can guide the student in finding the possibilities that best match the student interest, but is also encouraged proactivity from the student in searching for internship opportunities, for example by consulting the dedicated webpage of the University https://www.unibo.it/en/university/organisation-and-campuses/university-services/online-services/online-services-for-students/guide-to-online-student-services/Online-internships. At the same webpage, it is possible to activate internship agreements for new companies or institutions. The student, the Academic tutor and the host institution tutor will have to decide together the internship activities which has to be indicate during the activation of the internship. This learning activity can be related also to a different topic of the final thesis. Once the internship activation request is sent through the portal, the Internship Commission will validate the request and the student has to download the attendance record for starting the internship. The total length of the internship is 300 hours.

No textbook or bibliography is needed, unless required by the Academic/Host Institution tutors.

Assessment methods
At the end of the internship, once the attendance record is filled and signed by the Tutors, the student has to upload a final internship report in the activation portal. The final report must be checked with the tutor. The Internship commission will evaluate the report and will registered the learning activity in the Student record. The learning activity is registered only as passed, with no additional marks.

Depending on the internship program, can include PC/laptop, or lab facilities.
