Learning outcomes

At the end of the module the student has the ability to apply knowledge and understanding in the orthopaedic-traumatological, rheumatological and neurological fields in the different phases of life. Knows how to practice clinical reasoning aimed at solving problems, continuously seeking opportunities for self-learning.

Course contents

The laboratory consists of 3 modules, 20 hours each. Module 1: laboratory in the orthopedic-traumatology field - teacher Valeria Candoli Module 2: laboratory in the neurological field - teacher Silvia Lupinacci Module 3: pediatric laboratory - teacher Martina Santoni The program of each module is as follows: - Collect physiological and pathological anamnestic data of physiotherapeutic interest relating to structures, functions, activities and participation - Carry out the physiotherapeutic objective examination: observation, palpation, evaluation of passive and active mobility, specific tests and investigation of signs and symptoms of the musculoskeletal, neurological, respiratory, cardio-circulatory and visceral structures. When executing, use validated tools, if existing - Carry out clinical reasoning. - Identify therapeutic objectives and strategies in relation to the physical and psycho-social needs of the person being examined. - Define and plan the physiotherapy intervention - Carry out the intervention - Verify, even in progress, the achievement of the objectives. Illustration of clinical cases (practical demonstration of the assessment, identification of the person's needs, therapeutic objectives and physiotherapy treatment) through videos or presentation in the classroom of a person with orthopedic - traumatological or neurological pathology.

Teaching methods

Interactive lessons that include a frontal and an experiential part with discussion between teacher and students during the evaluation and treatment of real or simulated clinical cases, i.e. people suffering from pathologies of physiotherapeutic interest. N.B. In consideration of the type of activity and the teaching methods adopted, attendance of this training activity requires the prior participation of all students in Modules 1 and 2 of training on safety in the places of study, in e-learning mode.

Assessment methods

Practical test The end-of-course practical test aims to evaluate the achievement of the main educational objectives: - Ability to effectively and completely collect the clinical history of physiotherapy interest; - Ability to appreciate and collect the clinical signs and symptoms present. - Ability to identify therapeutic objectives - Ability to carry out a treatment session The learner's level of participation will be taken into account throughout the workshop.
