Academic Year 2024/2025

  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Bologna
  • Corso: First cycle degree programme (L) in Physiotherapy (cod. 8476)

Learning outcomes

At the end of the module the student has the ability to apply knowledge and understanding regarding: pathologies of the musculoskeletal system susceptible to physio-kinesitherapy treatment, identification of the subject's preventive and rehabilitative needs through the evaluation of clinical data and individual characteristics, methods appropriate therapies in the orthopedic field, design, planning and execution of the physiotherapy intervention.

Course contents

PRINCIPLES OF FUNCTIONAL ASSESSMENT IN ORTHOPEDIC PHYSIOTHERAPY:

anamnesis, data collection, observation, inspection, palpation, pain assessment, assessment of joint range of motion, assessment of muscle strength, assessment of sensitivity (if necessary), specific tests for each district.

Identification of therapeutic objectives and PHYSIOTHERAPY STRATEGIES indicated for achieving the objectives

PHYSIOTHERAPY TREATMENT AND SPECIFIC ASSESSMENT in the main orthopedic pathologies of physiotherapeutic interest of the upper and lower limb: proximal humeral fractures, shoulder prosthesis, cuff injuries, calcific tendinopathy, shoulder instability, elbow pathologies, wrist and hand operations; femur fractures and hip replacements, knee replacements, ACL, meniscal injuries, ankle and foot injuries
