93726 - Building Information Modeling II

Academic Year 2024/2025

  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Bologna
  • Corso: Second cycle degree programme (LM) in Building Engineering -Architecture (cod. 5697)

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student has mastered the most advanced digital modelling techniques, deepening the methodologies of algorithmic and parametric modelling with particular reference to the field of architecture.

Course contents

The only real important goal of this course is to ensure a clear and complete understanding of the basic philosophy behind the BIM approach.

The main theoretical basis on which the course is based starts from the Italian UNI-11337 and International ISO-19650 standards applying it to the reality of today's business.

The BIM environment is an extremely chaotic universe in which, in the confusion, tools that are now indispensable are mixed with futuristic marketing messages and useless gadgets. We will try to provide clarity and build the critical notions to know how to use the BIM approach productively while avoiding market traps.

The course is considered advanced and focuses mainly on the topics of coordination and collaboration of the BIM approach.
