Learning outcomes
The student has the ability to apply knowledge and understanding of the concepts of health and need, the stages of the care process, the detection of vital parameters, the care measures to be taken in emergency situations.
Course contents
The role of the nurse in the care process
Health and needs:
Concept of health, concept of needs, basic needs and theorizing
The care process:
Definition and introduction to the care process, phases and characteristics
Methods of detecting vital signs:
Definition and monitoring of vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, body temperature, pain)
The main patient rating scales:
Glasgow coma scale, the Braden scale, the Brass scale, the scales of pain.
The safety of care environments
Assistance measures in particular situations:
Prevention and management of pressure injuries
Healthcare-associated infections: signs and symptoms, management of patients with bladder catheters and drainage, trachestomy
Actions to be taken in the event of an emergency
