Learning outcomes
At the end of the module, the student is familiar with the classification and clinical assessment of dysphonias. They also have knowledge of the procedures for managing dysphonic individuals, from evaluation to treatment, both in pediatric and adult populations.
Course contents
- Introduction to the subject
- Speech therapy management of the dysphonic patient
- Main tests and assessment tools
- Rehabilitation of all vocal pathologies: organic (congenital or acquired) and functional, vocal cord paralysis, cordectomies, partial and total laryngectomies, pediatric dysphonia
- Speech counseling in the patient with dysphonia and in particular in the cancer patient
- From theory to clinical practice

Assessment methods
The final assessment method will be agreed upon during the first lesson with the students.
The examination will cover all the contents included in the classroom study program, with a particular focus on the evaluation and logopedic rehabilitation treatment, according to the guidelines and the most current scientific evidence.
