Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student has acquired the knowledge of the fundamental processes of the Air Navigation Services and is able to apply them within air traffic control simulations. The student also acquires familiarization with the instrumentation and with the management of simple normal and emergency operating situations both in the Control Tower and with the approach and area radar
Course contents
The study program will explore the following topics concerning the context of air navigation assistance services:
1. Organization of a Service Provider
2. The model of highly reliable Organizations
3. Support technologies for air navigation assistance activities and future developments
4. The basic techniques used by air traffic controllers in providing the service and the relevant legislation
5. The organization of air navigation assistance services, airspace and future developments
6. the bodies of the air navigation assistance services and future developments
7. the relationship between air navigation assistance services and aircraft performance
