Learning outcomes
After the course, the student has a deep knowledge of Italian grammar, in all its varieties. He/she makes the right stylistic choices with respect to the communicative context. He/she displays a solid competence in using the language, both orally and in its written variety.
Course contents
Course topics:
- coherence and cohesion,
- summeries and rewriting,
- techniques to collect and to organize the ideas,
- paragraph and «topic sentence»,
- using a dictionary,
- measuring text readability,
- use of lexicographic tools.
The Italian language laboratory (20 hours in the classroom, supplemented by the course on the e-learning platform) will be divided into six groups and will take place according to the following calendar:
- Group 1: II period, I semester;
- Group 2: II period;
- Group 3: III period, II semester;
- Group 4: III period;
- Group 5: IV period.
- Group 6: non attending students.
The detailed calendars of the individual groups are published on the professor’s page and on the platform.
1-5 groups: max 85 students admitted to each group. Duration: 20 hours in classroom.
Students must register for the Laboratory and choose their group through the Virtual e-learning platform, using the "registration key" obtained by email (by sending a message without text (subject: chiave Laboratorio) to lettere.labitaliano@unibo.it [mailto:lettere.labitaliano@unibo.it] ; the reply message will also contain the instructions for registration; only messages from the institutional address (name.surname@unibo.it [mailto:name.surname@unibo.it] ) will receive an answer.

Attention: all registrations to the 2024/2025 Laboratory expire on 15 October 2025.
The laboratory is meant for students enrolled in the first year of the course in 2024/2025, as stated in teaching plan.
Students whose mother tongue is other than Italian must have a good knowledge of the Italian language, at least level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Erasmus or exchange students must contact the professor before the beginning of the course.

Assessment methods
To obtain their ‘idoneità’, students must complete the reading / text production path available on the e-learning platform of the course. There are two different paths: for attending students and for non-attending students.
The minimum attendance required is eight lessons out of the ten being scheduled.
Students with SLD or temporary or permanent disabilities: it is necessary to contact the relevant University office (https://site.unibo.it/studenti-con-disabilita-e-dsa/en ) with ample time in advance: the office will propose some adjustments, which must in any case be submitted 15 days in advance to the lecturer, who will assess the appropriateness of these in relation to the teaching objectives.
