Learning outcomes
At the end of the module the student has the knowledge and ability to understand the main pathology and dysfunctions of the nervous system. It recognizes the postural and movement alterations that occur in neurological pathologies and understands their pathogenesis, objective significance and evolution. They know and have the ability to understand the extramotor elements that interact with motor skills.
Course contents
Neurological physical examination: strength, sensitivity, reflexes, muscle tone, gait and standing, speech, balance and coordination, cranial nerves.
Motor (pyramidal, second motor neuron, cerebellar, extrapyramidal) and sensory (cortical, medullary and peripheral) neurological syndromes.

Autonomic (vegetative) nervous system pathology Coma and brain death
The main diagnostic aids in Neurology (CT, MRI, EEG, CSF examination)
Multiple Sclerosis and Demyelinating Diseases
Pathological basis of neurodegenerative diseases
Diseases associated with minor cognitive impairment and dementia Parkinson's disease and atypical parkinsonisms

Assessment methods
The assessment takes place through tests with multiple-choice quizzes and open questions. There are 27 multiple-choice quizzes and the score is +1 if correct, 0 if wrong or absent. The open-ended question has a score ranging from +1 to +5 based on the accuracy and completeness of the content. The time available to the student for the written test is 50 minutes. During the test, the use of supporting material such as textbooks, notes, computer supports is not allowed. The maximum score that can be obtained by providing all correct and complete answers is 30 laude. The test is passed with a minimum score of 18/30.
