Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, the students possesse a preparation that allows to address the different medicolegal issues related to the dental profession. In particular, the student is able to:

  • Acquire knowledge of Italian legislation in the healthcare field, especially the criminal, civil, and ethical codes.
  • Understand the etiological connections between their actions and legal norms.
  • Comprehend appropriate behaviors and those that may lead to civil and criminal sanctions.
  • Gain knowledge of traumatology, the mechanisms of injury production, and the legal implications of traumatic events.
  • Assimilate the various aspects of professional responsibility and implement healthcare behaviors to avoid any involvement.
  • Recognize different legal domains, starting with ethical implications.
  • Learn professional obligations.
  • Understand sanctions in case of non-compliance.
  • Develop a correct professional relationship with the patient.
  • Acquire knowledge of the organization and characteristics of both private and social insurance issues.
  • Be capable of correctly fulfilling certain legal commitments (reports, documentation, medical certificates).
