Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student has a preparation that allows recognizing, facing and solving simple cases of oral surgery. In particular, the student is able to:
- recognize and properly use the main instruments used for oral surgery;
- properly recognize and use the main materials for oral surgery;
- diagnose the main diseases that require oral surgery treatment;
- recognize indications for oral surgery treatment;
- plan simple oral surgery;
- organize a surgical environment;
- coordinating a team to carry out oral surgery;
- perform dental extractions and small oral surgery operations;
- manage the complications of extractions and small oral surgery operations

- Introduction and presentation of the course
- Objective examination and clinical record
- Local anesthesia
- The first visit: extra and intra oral examination and biometric examinations
- Oral surgery in respect of anatomy
- Sutures in oral surgery
- Simple extractions
- Extractions of impacted dental elements
- Cysts of dental origin, cysts of non-dental origin, maxillary sinus cysts
