Learning outcomes

At the end of the course students reach the level A2.

Course contents

Develop the skills of oral and written comprehension, oral and written expression.

Deepen the morphological system, linguistic, communicative, and cultural competences.

Transitive and intransitive verbs of motion without prefixes and with prefix po-.

Verbs of motion with prefixes. The use of the main prepositions after verbs of motion.

The verb aspects: meanings and characteristics of imperfective and perfective verbs. Indicative and infinitve moods.

Formation and use of the imperative.

The comparative and superlative degree of adjectives and adverbs.

Short form of adjectives.

Pronouns: indefinite and negative pronouns.

Copulative, coordinating and disjunctive conjunctions.

Subordinating conjunctions: of explanation, of aim and purpose, and condition.

Teaching methods

The course is articulated in 30 hours of lessons in the first semester, in which the linguistic competences are mainly developed, and in many hours of laboratory activities in the first and second semester, that privilege the communicative competences.

The tutorial lessons are part of the course and will be part of the exam program.

Assessment methods

The students are asked to do a written examination and an oral test. The positive result of the written examination is valid for 4 terms and it is necessary to take the oral exam.

The written test (3 hours) is to verify the linguistic competences, in particular elements of morphology and word-study, including the ability of written and oral comprehension. 

Two mid-term tests to access the oral exam with the average grade, structured as follows, are planned in the second semester:

1 test (50%) - April 2025:

• adjectives
• indefinite pronouns,
• complements of cause
• verbal aspects
  
  

2 test (50%) - May 2025:

• verbs of motion
• written comprehension and production

The written tests in itinere verify the practical contents of linguistics introduced in class and detailed in the course program. The individual partial tests cannot be repeated. In the event that the final grade of the mid-term tests, given by the sum of the percentages of the individual tests, is not satisfactory, the total written exam (which includes all the contents verified in the two tests) must be taken during the normal sessions scheduled during the academic year.
All attending and non-attending students can participate in the tests. To access the written partial tests, it will be necessary to register on the lists that will be opened on Almaesami.

The oral test is focused on the communicative competences, on the ability of oral expression. The first part of the oral test is in Russian and is dedicated to the skill of speaking on historical, cultural, geo- social aspects of the country.

The second part of the oral exam is focused on the linguistics theoretical contents of the course programme.

The final grade is the result of the average between the written exam and the oral examinations.

To take the exam of Russian language 2, students are required to take Russian language 1 first.
