Learning outcomes
The student acquires the necessary tools to tackle and solve basic problems related to transport phenomena (mass, energy and species) and thermodynamics commonly encountered in the field of engineering with the help of numerical and experimental methods.
Course contents
Part I: Numerical methods. Solving thermofluidynamics problems using the FEM method implemented in MATLAB (simple cases) and COMSOL Multiphysics (complex cases)
Part II: Experimental methods. Introduction to Particle image velocimetry (PIV) for characterization of fluid flows. Introduction to IR camera for thermography.

Teaching methods
Theoretical lessons. Practical session on the computer using the software MATLAB and COMSOL. Practical session in the laboratory.
