Learning outcomes

The aim of the course is to present the main statistical concepts and instruments to help the collection, organization and analysis of the data. At the end of the course, the student is able to organize, represent and summarize data.

Course contents

Introduction to statistics. Statistical units, population and sample. Type of variables. Frequency distributions. Graphical representations. Main central tendency and variability measures. Relationships between variables: association, covariance and linear correlation. Basics of probability. Elements of inferential statistics (point and interval estimation, hypothesis tests). The regression model.
