Course contents

Reminders on improper integrals and numerical series. Integrals depending on a parameter. Laplace transform: definition, abscissa of absolute convergence, formal propeties, computations of inverse transforms. Series of functions: power series and Fourier series. Fourier coefficients in real and complex form. Pointwise convergence of Fourier series. Bessel inequality and Parseval equality. Half range Fourier expansions. Rapidly decreasing smooth functions and their Fourier transform. Properties of Fourier transform. Extension of the Fourier transform to more general classes of functions. Inversion of the Fourier transform.

Teaching methods

Students may choose either all the course "Complementi di Analisi Matematica T" (6 CFU) or the partial course "Trasformate integrali e serie di Fourier T" (3 CFU)
