Minor Educating Today, between Robotics and Artificial Intelligence: Digital Skills in an Interdisciplinary Perspective

Goals of the Course
1. Gain theoretical and practical knowledge about robotics and artificial intelligence: Students will be expected to understand the operating principles of these technologies and their potential application in the educational context.
2. Understand the concept of literacy and New Literacies: Students will develop an in-depth understanding of the concept of “literacy” and its evolution in academic debate, with a focus on New Literacies.
3. Designing Innovative Educational Interventions Using Robotics and AI: Students will be able to develop methodological skills necessary to create and implement educational projects that leverage robotics and artificial intelligence.
4. Developing functional soft skills: Through the use of technology, students will improve skills such as creativity, flexibility and problem solving, which are fundamental to educational innovation.

Specifically, these goals are to be translated into the following learning outcomes:

Knowledge
1. Have the theoretical and practical knowledge necessary to understand the operating principles of robotics and artificial intelligence.
2. Understand the concept of literacy and its theoretical developments in the recent debate on New Literacies.

Skills
1. Develop methodological skills to design and implement educational interventions with robotics and AI.
2. Develop soft skills such as creativity, flexibility and problem solving skills.


Description of the Course
The minor stems from the need to respond to the University's strategy related to the call on educational innovation. Specifically, it responds to the need to test innovative teaching methods and accreditation devices with microcredentials to facilitate the acquisition of transversal skills by students.
The purpose of the minor is to train professionals capable of designing and implementing innovative educational interventions, using robotics and artificial intelligence technologies and aiming at the development of transversal skills functional to the logic of New Literacies.
