Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is able to orientate in the history of the sciences of man; he knows how to use sources and tools (critical and cognitive) to understand the problematic theoretical issues without neglecting the historical context; It is made aware of the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to the study of man and his behavior.

Course contents

The internship activity consists of an optional work experience equivalent to 6 CFU (150 hours) that can be carried out at affiliated organizations, companies, or associations (including University structures that offer job placement projects).

Affiliated entities regularly publish their offers in a dedicated database that students can consult.

Your options for completing the internship

You can submit an internship request starting from the third year, after choosing it in your study plan. When submitting the request in the internship database, enter Prof. Ernesto as your academic tutor.

The first step is to prepare an effective application consisting of a CV and a motivational letter. You can use the University services and specific workshops. Consult the Job Placement website [https://www.unibo.it/it/servizi-e-opportunita/job-placement ]

Remember that:

  • The internship cannot be carried out at a structure where the legal representative, partner, or responsible manager has kinship or affinity ties up to the 2nd degree with the requesting student.
  • Curricular internships (including those in preparation for the final exam) are conducted in person. The internship committees, after evaluating the project as a whole, may authorize remote or mixed-mode internships.

How to find the right opportunity for you

Affiliated companies and organizations publish their offers in the Online Internship Service. You can consult on SOL-Tirocini [https://studenti.unibo.it/sol/welcome.htm ]:

  • the offers and apply. or
  • the list of affiliated companies of your interest, which you can contact to verify their availability to host you as an intern. If available, you will submit a self-application.

In both cases, when the Company has accepted your request, connect to SOL-Tirocini [https://studenti.unibo.it/sol/welcome.htm ] and:

  1. follow the guided procedure that will arrive at your institutional email address;
  2. download from SOL-Tirocini [https://studenti.unibo.it/sol/welcome.htm ] the attendance register where you will find the authorized period to carry out the internship.

Attention: Before starting the internship, make sure you have completed the workplace safety and health courses [https://www.unibo.it/it/servizi-e-opportunita/salute-e-assistenza/salute-e-sicurezza/sicurezza-e-salute-nei-luoghi-di-studio-e-tirocinio ] (Module 1 and Module 2). Verification of the certificates is the responsibility of the hosting entity.

If you have already agreed on the activity with a company/organization

To carry out the internship, follow these steps: Ensure that the company/organization is already affiliated with the University. If not, they will need to follow the instructions to become affiliated; ask the tutor of the hosting entity, who will guide you through the internship process, to insert a personalized offer in the company/organization internship service; follow the guided procedure that will arrive at your institutional email address; download from SOL-Tirocini the attendance register where you will find the authorized period of execution. Attention: Before starting the internship, make sure you have completed the workplace safety and health courses (Module 1 and Module 2). Verification of the certificates is the responsibility of the hosting entity.

Teaching methods

The verification of learning and the threshold for passing are established individually in the internship program. The hosting organization will certify the activities carried out on the student's diary booklet and will complete an online feedback questionnaire. Students are also required to complete a final questionnaire. The regular completion of the internship booklet and the approval of the final internship report by the reference professor attest to the verification of the acquired skills.

You must complete the attendance log, which should fall within the authorized period of execution. In case of any changes (e.g., suspension, cancellation) to the agreed program, you must communicate them via email to the internship office and copy the academic tutor and company representative.

In case of business trips, these must be communicated in advance by the tutor of the hosting organization to the internship office and the academic tutor, who must authorize them.

Assessment methods

The internship activity will be recorded online by the person designated as the tutor.

After completing the required internship hours on SOL-Tirocini [https://tirocini-studenti.unibo.it/tirocini/studenti/loginStudenti.htm ], you must:

  • Enter the end date of the internship
  • Attach the Attendance Register, with the first two pages completed and signed by the company representative.
  • Attach your report of about one page on the skills acquired, the methodologies used, and the usefulness of the internship for your career
  • Complete the mandatory questionnaire

The hosting organization will receive a notification to complete the evaluation questionnaire.
