B6288 - TECO (IMOLA)

Academic Year 2024/2025

  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Bologna
  • Corso: First cycle degree programme (L) in Nursing (cod. 5907)

Learning outcomes

At the end of the module, the student is able to carry out a self-assessment of their professional skills.

Course contents

The TECO project allows for the assessment of levels related to transversal (TECO-T) and disciplinary (TECO-D) skills acquired by university students at the end of their three-year program.

TECO-T measures competencies in Literacy, Numeracy, Civics, and Problem Solving, assuming that these skills draw from a general educational background and can be developed during the university course, regardless of the specific field of study. These characteristics allow for comparisons between universities and/or study programs.

TECO-D measures disciplinary skills which, unlike transversal skills, are considered to be closely linked to the specific educational content of a degree program. This characteristic allows for comparisons only between courses of a similar nature.

Teaching methods

The teaching methods are those used throughout the entire period of the Degree Course by Professors and Experts.

Assessment methods

The assessment is entirely conducted on an online platform managed by CINECA.

TECO uses multiple-choice questions due to their effectiveness and efficiency in tests that feature a significant number of questions which students must answer within a limited time.

Literacy estimates the levels of students' ability to understand, interpret, and reflect on a text not directly related to the core subjects of a specific Course of Study or disciplinary field.

Numeracy estimates the levels of students' ability to understand and solve logical-quantitative problems.

Problem Solving estimates the levels of understanding and solving both simple and complex problems, as well as an individual's ability to achieve goals in a given context that cannot be reached through direct actions or known sequences of actions and operations.

Civics estimates the levels of personal, interpersonal, and intercultural competencies that involve all forms of behavior, enabling individuals to participate effectively and constructively in social and working life, as well as resolve conflicts when necessary. Civic competencies are based on the knowledge of concepts such as democracy, justice, equality, citizenship, and civil rights.
