Course contents
Main diagnostic radiology imaging techniques: methods with ionizing radiation (computed tomography, PET, SPECT, angiography, angio CT and colon CT, coronography, hybrid machines); methods without ionizing radiation (ultrasound, color Doppler, magnetic resonance imaging)
Main types of diagnostic imaging:
• Imaging of the urinary system and colon
• Digestive system imaging
• Neuro imaging
• Osteoarticular Imaging
• Breast imaging
• Chest imaging
• Vascular imaging
• Injectable contrast medium
The role of the nurse in diagnostic radiology imaging
Diagnostic tests and interventional procedures: arterial, venous, extravascular district, hemodynamics, electrostimulation and electrophysiology, orthopedic and endovascular interventional procedures.
The role of the nurse in interventional procedures
Emergency radiology
The role of the nurse in emergency radiology
Staging of tumors using diagnostic imaging
Main radiotherapy techniques: external beam, internal (brachytherapy), by radioembolization, with radioligands.
The role of the nurse in Radiotherapy: the advanced practice nurse of radiotherapy oncology and the Nurse Case Manager appointed by the GOM Multidisciplinary Oncology Group
