Learning outcomes
At the end of the module, the student has developed and approached with critical thinking, recognizing the problematic nature, the ethical deontological issues related to professional practice and consistent with the bioethical orientations specific to the health care field.
Course contents
-Professional responsibility from enforcement to ethical and deontological principles.
-Contents, methods and tools in nursing responsibility in treating, caring for and assisting the person.
-Foundational normative references to the professional responsibility of the nurse.
-Codes of ethics, with particular reference to the contents of the Code of Ethics for Nursing Professions 2019 and the ICN Code of Ethics: analysis of values and principles and their significance in clinical practice.
-Ethical and bioethical principles in research.
-Ethics and Bioethics.
-Main approaches to ethics, ethical principles for decision making in ethical conflict/dilemma.
-Current epistemological debate in bioethics, its influences on life sciences and in particular on the beginning and end of life.
-Law 219 of 2017: informed consent and DAT.
-Ethical aspects of research and bioethics committees - CNB.
-Methodology and tools for ethical analysis and decision-making in nursing practice between the practitioner's position and the autonomy of the person being cared for: restraint, Therapeutic Arrangement, Voluntary Termination of Pregnancy, Assisted Procreation, Ethics in End of Life and Euthanasia
