Learning outcomes
To learn and explore past and current thoracic surgery techniques.
Course contents
This part of the Elective Course has the following objectives:
- Define the role of the thoracic surgeon in malignant lung diseases.
- Develop knowledge regarding the history of thoracic surgical techniques: from the open technique to the minimally invasive technique.
- Define surgical video thoracoscopy (VATS).
- Define robotic thoracic surgery (RATS).
