Learning outcomes

The student knows the basic economic-political elements for understanding the process of integration into the European Union of the national states of reference for the foreign languages activated in the Course.

Course contents

General lesson plan

History: the European situation at the end of the Second World War; the new international order; reconstruction and the Marshall Plan; the first community experiments; international relations and the economic boom; Altiero Spinelli, Ernesto Rossi and European federalism; community expansions; the European treaties; the European Constitution and the Treaty of Lisbon; Europe today. Institutions: European governance: introduction to the institutions; the European Parliament; the Commission; the Council and the Council of Ministers; the Court of Justice; the ECB and monetary policies; the Economic and Social Committee, the Committee of the Regions; the Court of Auditors, the European Ombudsman, the Guarantor, other EU Bodies, Offices and Agencies.
