Learning outcomes
During this course, the student will advance his knowledge about a variety of physiological and functional tests to assess i) cardiorespiratory fitness: ii) strength, power and muscular endurance: iii) body composition: iv) flexibility. The course will focus on practising the implementation of these tests in the lab or on the field, and how to analyse and interpret the data gathered from these tests in relation to both health and performance

Physiological assessment of cardiorespiratory fitness: maximal and submaximal exercise tests
Threshold tests
Laboratory and field tests of endurance performance
Laboratory tests of maximal force, power and rate of force development
Field tests of strength, power and muscular endurance
Practical assesment of body composition
Practical assessment of flexibility
Data recording, analysis and interpretation

Assessment methods
Written exam consisting of case studies to demonstrate a) the ability tp select the appropriate battery of tests to evaluate a given case and b) the ability to interpret test results from a case. The student will also be assessed on the theoretical bases of his/her test choices and his/her test interpretation
