Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student has attended the service assigned to him and therefore has a preparation that allows him to recognise, deal with and resolve simple diagnostic cases.
Course contents
The preventive and community dentistry internship aims to provide knowledge regarding public dentistry within the national health system; to address the concept of health and its social determinants; to provide information on the tools suitable for interventions to promote oral health and prevent the main dental diseases.
It includes lectures and internships on the following topics:
-Use of topical and systemic fluoride
-Healthy eating: foods with a carioprotective action
-Periodic checks
-Sealing of pits and fissures
-Caries risk assessment.
