Academic Year 2024/2025

  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Bologna
  • Corso: Single cycle degree programme (LMCU) in Primary Teacher Education (cod. 5711)

Learning outcomes

Students will be able to critically apply and re-elaborate the learned material within the context of a simulated learning environment.

Course contents

This course proposes collective writing as interaction and enhancement of critical abilities (in reference to primary school).

In today's increasingly digitalized and individualistic culture, collective (and therefore cooperative) writing becomes a tool to encourage the development of solid competences - both in writing and reading - through collaborative learning.

The course includes:

- Learning techniques about collective writing, with specific attention to Lorenzo Milani and Mario Lodi

- Acquisition of socio-linguistic tools to promote interaction during the creation process as well as ensuring the quality of the work

- Learning methodologies that focus on student-centered approaches, while respecting interculturality and gender differences.

Readings/Bibliography

During the course will be suggested bibliographic references. We will  analyze works by Mario Lodi, Lorenzo Milani, Cristiana De Santis, Silvana Loiero, Mirella d'Ascenzio.

Teaching methods

Each meeting will be divided in two parts:

 - Lectures (on theoretical and methodological aspects)

 - Cooperative Learning (team work)

Assessment methods

The following aspects will be considered for the purposes of the final evaluation:

  • students’ participation and cooperation in the proposed activities;
  • students’ reflective capacity (relevance of content; extent and depth of concepts and of conceptual links) demonstrated in a final report (max. 2/3 pages long) discussing the conceptual and operational links identified between the workshop and the National guidelines for the curriculum (Italian Ministry of Education, 2012);
  • students’ ability to write in a clear and articulated manner.

The final evaluation will consist of four grades:

  • +1 (very good)
  • 0 (good)
  • - 1 (sufficient)
  • Fail (workshop needs to be repeated again).
