Learning outcomes
By the end of the course, students will know the basic elements (concepts, terms, contents and articulations) of Italian institutions and culture, essential for the understanding of the numerous components of Italian cultural tradition, including recent ones; they will be able to identify and understand the cultural and institutional elements witnessed in literary, non-fictional, dramaturgical, cinematographic, musical works and in the field of contemporary Italian visual art; they will be able to independently elaborate further knowledge and specific skills of higher level and to apply them in the analysis of other cultural and institutional phenomena typical of Italian civilization.
Course contents
BAES students are reminded that the course of Italian Culture and Institutions is offered only at the Forlì Campus and that the language of lectures will be Italian.
Images of contemporary Italy
The course aims to offer an overview of the changes experienced by Italy during the twentieth century on a political, economic, social, civil and cultural basis, drawing on a series of different sources, especially literary and cinematographic ones. In this way we will try to offer a "moving image" of contemporary Italy.
