Learning outcomes
At the end of the internship, the students are able to identify and satisfy the care needs of the person with low care complexity. They can establish effective interpersonal relationships and to activate a supportive relationship with the person / family. They get involved with their own activities in the organization of the service respecting the ethical principles of the profession.
Course contents

During the Nursing Internship I, the Students will attend clinical internship locations of various specializations and structures, within the framework of the Agreement between UNIBO and the health structures.
The Internship has a duration of 13 ECTS of which 1 ECTS of related activities (Articles 4 and 5 of the Regulations).
During the attendance, the Students
will actively and directly participate in care activities under the supervision of dedicated clinical Tutors.
They will participate in specific briefings and de-briefings organized by the Teaching tutors and / or by the Clinical tutors themselves.
Under the guidance of the Teaching and Clinical Tutors, they will have to draw up two clinical-assistance case plans for people assisted according to the Gordon-Carpenito model; case complexity being mantained into the expected learning level.
At the end of the course, students must be able to integrate the theoretical scientific knowledge of the professionalizing, characterizing and basic subjects, maturing skills that will be assessed under the cognitive, technical-operational and relational aspects.
In particular, students must demonstrate that they:
know how to integrate the basic ethical-deontological and regulatory principles (D.M. 739/94; L. 42/1999; L. 251/2000; CD OPI 2019)
know how to set up a nursing assessment also through the use of evaluation scales; interpret clinical data and hypothesize technical interventions in relation to the knowledge acquired during the 1st year;
are able to describe and relate to the clinical case some nursing diagnoses developed during the professional training courses and exercises.
know how to perform basic nursing procedures and justify their scientific rationale.
are able to guarantee the safety of operators and patients by applying procedures relating to hand hygiene, waste management, use of personal protective equipment and adoption of standard precautions.
describe the clinical phenomenon using a technically-scientific and professionally adequate language

Assessment methods
The exam of the Nursing Internship Course I provides for specific prerequisites, in particular, in order to register for the exam, students must already have:
passed the exams of Morphological Sciences, Physiological Sciences and General and Applied Nursing Sciences;
reported a positive score in the activity of the IC "Laboratory of Fundamental Nursing Care".
In addition they have:
reported positive evaluations in the internship evaluation forms in all periods attended
produced the two clinical-assistance cases requested.
The exam consists in passing written test whith micro-situations in which to identify from time to time Nursing Diagnoses, Objectives and assistance interventions;
questions regarding knowledge or normative-deontological applications
Passing the written test allows access to the oral examination, aimed at ascertaining the level of integration of the acquired knowledge.
