Learning outcomes

At the end of the module the student applies the disciplinary knowledge, critical thinking, technical, relational and educational skills acquired in fundamental nursing care. Develops methodological skills relating to care planning. The activity develops in relation to the internship path and the theoretical contents.

Course contents

Acquire the technical, relational and methodological skills envisaged by the Professional Profile of the Nurse and related to the theoretical contents foreseen for the course year.

Through the specific objectives we intend to develop:

- methodological skills in the application of the nursing discipline's own method according to reference models used in the proposed experiences;

- health approach skills;

- reflective and critical thinking skills that connect theoretical contents and clinical experience;

- awareness of the scientific motivations underlying the nursing act, including those of a technical-professional nature;

- skills in team work with a particular orientation towards comparison;

- relational competence towards the person and the family.

Throughout the entire training course, the aim is to develop a sensitivity and attitude based on the values expressed by the Nurse's Code of Ethics.

Some topics may be covered in seminar form.

As regards the SKILL LABORATORIES, the nursing techniques offered are:

- Making the occupied bed and dressing the person with an ongoing drip

- Intimate hygiene in men and women

- Oral hygiene

- Vital signs acquisition

- Mobilization techniques for the hemiplegic person

- Venous sampling

- Capillary sampling for blood sugar determination

- Intramuscular administration of drugs

- Subcutaneous administration of drugs (insulin)

- Preparation of the venous line and positioning of the peripheral venous catheter

- Positioning of the urinary catheter in men and women

THE RELATIONSHIP WORKSHOPS are intended to be developed in a small group in 2 sessions.

As regards the METHODOLOGICAL WORKSHOPS/CLINICAL TUTORING: they are intended to be organized in small groups and/or individually to encourage the acquisition of skills in:

- Care planning (adoption of Gordon's model and LJ. Carpenito's bifocal model of clinical practice)

- Clinical reasoning

The attendance for workshops and seminars is compulsory: only one absence is allowed for seminars that take place in a single edition.

Assessment methods

The content of the laboratories will be assessed in terms of "paas/fail" as set out in the Study Course Regulations by means of a written test in quiz format with 30 multiple-choice questions.

The test result will be considered sufficient with a score of 18 out of 30.
